Richard Eyre
has a distinguished career in advertising
and media, and has held some major
leadership roles including the Chief
Executive positions for three major
media organisations: Capital Radio,
ITV and Pearson TV. |
 |
His
invaluable experience and excellent
communication skills equip him as
an authoritative business communicator
and consultant in the areas of leadership,
strategy and performance enhancement. |
 |
Richard
started his business career in advertising
and between 1975/1991 worked for
Benton and Bowles, Aspect Advertising
and Bartle Bogle Hegarty. At BBH
he achieved billings of £100
m p.a. in five years, and won Media
Week's Agency of the Year title
three times. |
|
 |
In
1991, Richard was appointed Chief Executive
of Capital Radio. Over six years, he expanded
the group from two to twelve stations
and the value of Capital grew fourfold.
|
 |
In
1997, Richard became Chief Executive of
ITV at a most challenging time in the
history of the Network, when audiences
were in serious decline. Richard's leadership
saw a new senior team recruited to undertake
a fundamental reworking of ITV's approach
and re-branded ITV consistently around
the country. |
 |
In
2000, Richard joined the management team
at Pearson, a British FTSE100 company,
with interests in education, publishing
(Penguin), newspapers, (Financial Times)
and television. He became the Chairman
and Chief Executive of Pearson TV at a
very key time when a merger with a European
broadcasting group occurred and developed
a coherent strategic direction for the
group. He also headed the group's production
resource, and was responsible for the
creation of 10,000 hours of programming
a year, in 35 countries. |
 |
Since
his amicable departure of Pearson TV,
Richard has been satisfying a long-term
desire to write a novel, has been made
a Director of Signify Ltd and has also
taken on some non-executive roles in high
growth, creative businesses including: |
| • |
Chairman of RDF Media, one of the
larger independent TV producers. |
| • |
Advisor to 19 Management Ltd, a
creative, management and production
organisation focused on music-based
entertainment. |
| • |
Associate Partner of Unity, a media-planning
specialist. |
|
 |
Richard
also works as a trustee for Capital Charities,
which raise over £1m a year to help
disadvantaged children. He is married
with two children. |
