appropriate programme. Once we have established
your requirements, we use the tools we
know best to deliver a unique solution.
Programmes
can vary in length, depending on your context
and budget. In our experience, we have found
it extremely advantageous to take the team out
of their everyday context on an offsite to grapple
with existing relational and business issues.

After
relatively little training for its managers
in the first 11 years of its existence,
we recognised at 1st Contact that we needed
to invest in the growth and development
of our leaders and that we didn't have
the capacity in-house to deliver on this.
Signify took us right back to the basics
of organisational and leadership culture
by asking us who we wanted to be as a
company and what we wanted our leaders
to represent, in terms of values.
Since then we have taken all the leaders
on several offsites where we learned about
coaching, mentoring, influencing, communicating,
giving feedback, questioning and listening,
as well as reaping the additional benefits
of the team getting better acquainted.
As we didn’t want to be consultant-reliant,
Signify implemented a Peer Coaching programme.
This was an excellent long-term strategy
for our leaders to get together monthly
to discuss business issues, relate business
ideas from books and to complete assignments
as a group.
The
positive results of the Leadership Development
Programme are greater openness, people
are asking for each others’ feedback
and growing through the feedback they
receive. The leaders are seeing the benefits
of being more transparent with each other
and with their teams. Their confidence
as leaders is growing, which impacts them
personally and ultimately the business
is benefiting from this.
Having seen the impact Signify had made
on our leadership culture after just 10
months, we decided to continue with a
longer term leadership development programme
with Signify.
