of the Christian understanding of God, yet the very doctrine
that enables us to know who God is, strikes fear into
the hearts of many believers. Faced with difficult questions
we muddle through our best three-leaf clover analogies,
or make mention of water, ice and steam only to beat a
retreat into the safety of a so-called 'simple faith'.
